I purchased this shaver as a change for a 10+ year old Braun Syncro 6550. My old one was still going strong but was in need for other foil and cutter block. After doing tons of explore and reading reviews on this model I decided to give it a shot.
I'm no ifs ands or buts impressed with the quality and speed of shave. At first I had some concerns that the extra vibration caused by the pulsing highlight of this model would feel weird in the hand, but it's no problem and all and I got used to it in no time.
The closeness of the shave is about the same as my old Braun when it has a brand new foil and cutter block - but for me where this shaver shines is the speed of the shave. If I skip shaving on a weekend then it would no ifs ands or buts take me 10 minutes to get a decent shave with my old model. With this one I'm probably done in about 3-4 minutes.
I did have some concerns with the quality to clean the shaver dry since the cutter block and foil are a one piece unit and do not separate from one another. I didn't want to go the route of cleaning it under the faucet as have sensitive skin and don't want to have to apply oil to the cutterhead (as recommended by Braun if you clean it using water.) machine oil + freshly shaven skin is a method for vexed skin for me. It turns out that simply removing the foil/cutter assembly and tapping the lowest of it on a table/countertop gets rid of approximately all the old trimmings. No fuss, miniature muss.
The fit and desist of the shaver is what I've come to expect from Braun. The transformer block on the charging cord was a bit of a surprise but it's not overly large and doesn't add all that much bulk when packing the shaver for travel. Granted I've only been using it for a few weeks, but so far there's nothing about that shaver that would give me theorize to give whatever but a full 5 star rating.
